Claire Yerbury

Drawing inspiration from her fascination with Zen Buddhism and her observations of the natural world, Claire explores themes of life, death, beauty, decay, growth, joy, sorrow, and impermanence. These expressions often incorporate images influenced by her musical background as a cellist and her studies in horticulture.

Working on a smaller scale, Claire intensifies her subject matter, imparting each piece with a sense of intimate preciousness. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Sydney University (1991) and an Advanced Certificate in Horticulture (2000), Claire's artistic journey is enriched by her two decades of performing in string ensembles and with the Byron String Trio at various events throughout the Northern Rivers.

Claire's art finds its home in galleries spanning Sydney, Adelaide, Tasmania, Byron Bay, Cabarita Beach, and the Gold Coast. Her evolving body of work mirrors her unique and personal experience of life, making each exhibition a testament to her continuous growth and artistic evolution.
