Born in London in 1970, Charly Wrencher always had a natural artistic ability, drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. His family transitioned to Australia when he was 11 years old, a  move that had a profound impact on the artist … describing it as “moving from grey London to technicolour Australia". Charly trained at Sydney's National Art School (graduating 1991).

Within the paintings that Charly produces, stories are told … the pieces reflect the artists moods and reactions to life. “The emotions within my paintings are joy, anger, bliss .. every emotion.” Leaving areas unfinished allows the viewer to ponder on the negative spaces, whilst allowing other areas to fulfil the richness of his work. A keen surfer, Charly, his wife Jane and their four children live in a Queenslander set on their picturesque 68-acre Friday Hut Road property. In the midst of this pastoral paradise is "The Hut" (Charly's studio) which fronts onto the familiar green rolling hills of the Byron hinterland. Charly has work held in many private collections throughout Australia and around the world and in particular - TDG Cold Storage / GHD Engineering Sydney & Newcastle / Royal Hospital for Women Sydney.
